Synopsis: A young writer is obsessed with a photograph of a man standing in a boat. Desperate to take his mind off the picture that is "really nothing to look at," he throws a party, where he meets and falls in love with a girl. They marry, and the photo of the man in the boat no longer haunts him. But he becomes obsessed with another photo, one of an empty seashore. His analyst advises him to confront his fears. In doing so, he is absorbed into the photo--swimming off into his ocean waves shouting, "Life is fraught with peril."
